The crème de la crème of the Dutch pop-rock scene (featuring José) at the premiere of "The Beat Goes On"

Yesterday saw the premiere of the rockumentary "The Beat Goes On" at Max Guitar in Scheveningen, Netherlands. The film was directed and edited by John Meijer in association with pop journalist and columnist Martin Reitsma. It deals with the golden age of the pop-rock scene from the 1960s, 70s and 80s in Voorburg, The Hague and Delft. The movie includes interviews, music and excerpts from performances by Golden Earring, Q 65, Greenfield and Cook, The Motions, Livin' Blues, Shocking Blue, Urban Heroes, Groep 1850, Gruppo Sportivo, Bojoura, Tee Set, After Tea and Alquin. It is also a tribute to the legendary Hans and Jan Vermeulen of The Sandy Coast and Ton v.d. Kleij. 

José Hoebee attended this event. It was her first public appearance since the announcement of her illness and the interruption of Luv's live performances that led to the group's break-up. The singer looked great!!!

The crème de la crème of the Dutch pop-rock scene was present as well. Among them were members of the above-mentioned bands as well as Supersister, Lemming, Rainbow Train, The Surfers, Nicols, Renée and The Alligators, The Scarlets, Bennett & Bee, Urban Heroes, Cashmere, Livin'Blues, The Rest, Daddy's Act, Teach-In, The Incrowd, the band of Rob de Nijs.

Rudy Van Den Berg (Bennett), Nicko Christiansen, René and Anja Nodelijk, Ferry Lever Beer Klaasse, Getty Kaspers and Cor, José Hoebee, Polle Eduard Mars and Yenney, Evert Nieuwstede, Bea Willemstein, Hilde Marchal and Wally Mckey enjoyed this wonderful and musical afternoon.

The poet Victor R. Meijer recited two beautiful poems about friendship and the temple of pop music in The Hague, De Marathon.  Peter de Ronde of Golden Earring and Beer Klaasse of Group 1850 and Q65 told anecdotes from their glorious musical past. René Nodelijk of Renée and The Alligators gave a solo performance on guitar.
